Keith W. Marshall, PhD
Managing Director

Dr. Keith W. Marshall is a co-founder and Managing Director at Montgomery, Marshall Healthcare Partners, LLC. Keith focuses primarily on M&A advisory and private placement services for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. Keith has been involved in the healthcare industry for almost 20 years combined in investment banking and medical research.

Prior to co-founding MMHCP in July 2008, Keith was a managing director for Montgomery & Co, LLC's healthcare group. Keith joined Montgomery & Co., LLC in May 2003, and helped found the firm's healthcare team and open its San Francisco office with George Montgomery. While at Montgomery & Co., he helped raise over $400mm for private biotech companies and helped complete a number of M&A deals including several cross border buyside deals for Japanese pharmaceutical companies.

Before joining Montgomery & Co., Keith worked in JPMorgan H&Q's healthcare practice on the West Coast. While at JPMorgan H&Q, he worked on over $3 billion in public, private, and merger transactions for biotechnology companies. In addition, Keith evaluated early stage biotechnology companies with JPMorgan Partners, the principal investing group within JPMorgan Chase.

Prior to entering investment banking, Keith performed medical research at Immulogic Pharmaceuticals and in academia, focusing primarily on oncology, immunology, and protein chemistry. He has authored a dozen peer-reviewed scientific articles.

Keith consulted on the formation of "Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure (ABC2)" a non-profit foundation created by the Dan Case and Steve Case families. He received an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical chemistry from the University of California, San Francisco, and an A.B. degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
